The Astronomy Department has been invited by the White House to host a satellite “White House Astronomy Night” on Monday, October 19, 2015.  The “Starry Night Watch Party” will be held at the Leitner Family Observatory and Planetarium, 355 Prospect Street, beginning at 7pm.  At least two members of our community, undergraduate Lauren Chambers ‘17 and Prof. Meg Urry, as well as alumna Jedidah Isler, PhD ‘14, will be at the White House in person.  The public can watch the White House event (live streamed) from LFOP, while also enjoying planetarium shows and outdoor observing through telescopes (weather permitting).
