Emily Sandford awarded the AAS Chambliss Student Poster Award

Emily Sandford was awarded the American Astronomical Society Chambliss Student Poster Award at the 223rd AAS meeting from 5-9 January, 2014 in Washington, DC. Her project is to train a neural network to distinguish between the satellite galaxies of nearby Milky Way analogs and background galaxies in the same field. Hopefully, her results will lead to better targeting efficiency in the ongoing Satellites Around Galactic Analogs (SAGA) survey.
