Yale Astrophysics major Samantha Berek (Class of 2020) has been selected as Brooke Owens Fellow and will be interning at Bryce Space and Technology this summer.

Congratulations, Sam!

Sam Berek is a student at Yale University double majoring in Astrophysics and Anthropology. The sense of wonder she feels when stargazing convinced her at a young age to dedicate her life to the advancement of human knowledge of our solar system and larger universe.

In college, Sam conducts research searching for Milky Way dwarf galaxies and globular clusters. She is also a member of the Yale Undergraduate Aerospace Association working on the CubeSat team, the treasurer of the beekeeping club Bee Space, and a Production & Design Editor of the Yale Daily News. When not at school, she enjoys working at a bird-banding MAPS station, catching and cataloging grassland songbirds.

As a Brooke Owens Fellow, Sam will work at Bryce Space and Technology this summer. She hopes to expand her knowledge and work experience through her employment, bringing her one step closer to her post-graduation goal of working in the aerospace industry.
